
Michael
Schaefer, violinist and founding member of String Quartet
Con Brio, is the orchestra director at Webber Junior
High School in Ft. Collins. He has been a member of the Fort Collins’
Symphony since 1967, assistant conductor for 14 years, assistant
concertmaster for 7 years. Michael was the music director and
conductor of Loveland Chamber Orchestra from 1981 to 1994. He
has performed with Symphonies, Chamber Orchestras, String Quintets,
Quartets, Trios, and solo work along the Front Range from Colorado
Springs to Casper Wyoming and Western Nebraska. He has been a
guest clinician, judge, chamber music coach and rehearsal technician
for all levels, elementary through university, in Colorado, Wyoming,
and Nebraska. Michael's arrangement of the String Sonata #1 by
Rossini has been performed by the Loveland Chamber Orchestra,
Fort Collins Symphony, and the Colorado All State Orchestra. Mr.
Schaefer has his bachelors' degree in music education and master’s
degree in education from Colorado State University.
